Valley View
Mercy LIFE Valley View is Unique as the first Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) in the United States to serve a community of Deaf seniors.
Located on the historic Elwyn campus in Elwyn, Delaware County, Mercy LIFE Valley View opened in May 2014 and was modified to provide both housing and PACE program services. Mercy LIFE Valley View's compassionate care model offers seniors residential, medical, and social services in one centralized location. An interdisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, therapists, and social workers work closely with seniors to provide coordinated and people-centered care.
Mercy LIFE is committed to treating each senior with a full-circle view in partnership with Elwyn’s mission to support individuals with diverse challenges and enrich their quality of life. Prior to opening, Mercy LIFE hired all legacy Elwyn employees working at the residential site. Both Mercy LIFE participants and most staff are Deaf and communicate via American Sign Language (ASL). The Mercy LIFE and Elwyn staff collaboration efforts helps maintain effective communication and comfort , ultimately creating a familiar and welcoming environment for participants.
The Valley View location is an innovative approach to Mercy LIFE’s vision to keep seniors connected and independent, as participants have the opportunity to live within their community onsite and receive the care they need. Our multi-touch, integrative LIFE program includes comprehensive services and programs free to those who qualify.*
